📋 Description

• Lead GPA’s portfolio of cross-cutting “AI for good” public goods • Coordinate AI engagement across GPA and the broader foundation • Serve as a clear point of accountability and decision-making for the AI public-goods agenda • Establish an operating rhythm and decision-making approach for AI public goods • Drive public-goods deliverables from concept to completion • Structure and integrate work across GPA teams • Shape, steward, and translate the foundation’s position on AI • Coordinate public-facing AI positions across Global Communications, program teams, and GPA • Refactor and connect AI-related content, examples, and proof points for priority influence channels and decision-makers • Track the AI funding landscape across philanthropies, multilaterals, DFIs, corporate funders, domestic sources, and high-net-worth and new AI money • Prioritize “fundables” lists and match opportunities between sources and uses of capital • Develop prospective fundraising goals tied to tent-pole moments • Build a structured taxonomy of the AI policy space and drive engagement prioritization • Translate policy priorities into concrete policy goals • Coordinate foundation representation at key AI summits and convenings • Set objectives for convenings tied to policy and funding goals • Facilitate and provide surge capacity for high-priority “announceables” through delivery with clear ownership • Convene and align senior internal and external stakeholders • Report to the Chief of Staff, GPA

🎯 Requirements

• Deep substantive expertise in artificial intelligence, including foundation models, AI policy and advocacy, model development and deployment, open-source ecosystems, safety and governance, and implications for public policy and global development • Demonstrated experience translating AI expertise into strategy, policy, investment, or implementation decisions • Ability to assess geopolitical dynamics, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and engage credibly with leading researchers, technology companies, policymakers, and practitioners • Demonstrated ability to bring structure, clarity, and momentum to complex, fast-evolving work, including coordinating across teams and functions • Strong judgment across funding/philanthropic and policy domains • Experience in global health, development, or related policy, financing, or philanthropy • Exposure to donor funding, multilateral institutions, or grantmaking • Deep knowledge of the AI landscape and its relevance to global development • Track record of operating effectively in large, matrixed organizations and building trusted relationships and coalitions • Exceptional communication and synthesis skills • An Advanced degree or equivalent demonstrated experience, preferably in international development, law, public policy, or a related field • Must have unrestricted work authorization in the country where this position is located • Successful completion of a background check
