📋 Description

• Lead IT professionals supporting the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) • Manage and improve standards, compliance, and performance of organ procurement organizations, transplant centers, and histocompatibility laboratories • Oversee case management, member performance monitoring, quality improvement, and adherence to OPTN bylaws, HRSA policies, and federal regulations • Lead the Patient Safety and Compliance Reviews Task Team • Deliver progress reports and formal presentations to GDIT executives, HRSA, OPTN committees, the OPTN Board of Directors, and other stakeholders • Collaborate with contractors and internal teams to improve organizational processes and outcomes • Oversee compliance and monitoring activities for OPTN member institutions • Manage oversight plans and procedures, including member monitoring, performance improvement, case management, triage, case review, close-out, and site visit plans • Supervise site visits and assess member adherence to OPTN policies and regulatory standards • Provide real-time escalation and data sharing with HRSA and OPTN • Analyze member performance data to identify trends, risks, and systemic patient-safety issues • Lead data-driven quality improvement initiatives to strengthen compliance, improve organ placement efficiency, and reduce patient-safety risks • Oversee educational materials and guidelines for OPTN members • Refine monitoring systems based on lessons learned and emerging needs • Mentor and develop team members; conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback • Manage departmental operations, quality assurance workflows, staffing, training, and resource allocation • Translate OPTN and HRSA policies into compliance-monitoring and quality-improvement workflows • Recommend policy updates based on case reviews, trend analysis, and compliance gaps • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, OPTN bylaws, and HRSA contractual requirements • Serve as primary liaison among GDIT, HRSA, OPTN committees, member institutions, and external contractors • Manage stakeholder communications and issue resolution • Represent the department in cross-functional meetings and advocate for programmatic improvements

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MSN, MPH, or equivalent relevant field) required • PhD and other clinical qualifications preferred • 10 years minimum of experience in quality assurance, clinical compliance, health consulting, or healthcare management • 15 years of experience preferred • Preferably experience in organ transplantation or a related field • 5 years minimum in a management or leadership role • Clinical experience required • Strong analytical abilities and a data-driven mindset • Proficiency in regulatory standards such as CMS or OPTN • Excellent communication skills • Leadership capabilities • Systems-based mindset • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
