📋 Description

• Develop and implement a scalable, secure, cloud-based data platform for operational data, reporting, and analytics • Engineer multi-tenant cloud environments supporting hybrid/on-premises systems, SQL, NoSQL, IaaS, PaaS, distributed SQL, multimodal, and streaming databases • Produce and maintain dimensional data models and downstream data marts • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes, consumable data, reports, and dashboards • Maintain technical, testing, design, model, workflow, and audit-ready documentation • Develop, deploy, and maintain data presentation and reporting for data products • Support data and technology roadmap development across engineering, analytics, and AI/ML • Design and develop ingestion, ETL/ELT, transformation, and integration pipelines • Implement reusable data services, quality checks, validations, and error handling • Collaborate with architects on logical and physical data models using platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or AWS Redshift • Configure metadata, workflows, automation, security settings, catalog ingestion processes, and attribute definitions • Create training, job aids, and communications for user adoption • Integrate pipelines with cloud services, messaging, and storage components • Optimize pipeline performance, scalability, and cost efficiency • Support CI/CD deployments, automated testing, code promotion, code reviews, design reviews, and sprint ceremonies • Resolve incidents and perform root cause analysis for pipeline failures • Ensure deliverables meet federal security, governance, and audit requirements • Collaborate across scrum teams with architects, DBAs, business analysts, and QA personnel • Execute data migration, archival, disaster recovery, and failover testing activities • Implement operational databases, document storage, indexing services, schemas, and secure data APIs using infrastructure as code

🎯 Requirements

• MA/MS degree with 5+ years of general experience in information systems and 5+ years of specialized experience, or BS/BA degree with 7+ years of general experience and 5+ years of specialized experience • 7+ years of related experience • Experience in data engineering and data architecture design • Understanding of system security best practices • Experience building and migrating software and IT services • Experience researching advanced technologies for business needs • Experience with AWS data and compute services • Experience with data orchestration tools • Knowledge of cloud messaging and storage services • Proven software and data engineering experience • Hands-on experience building enterprise-scale data pipelines • Strong proficiency with SQL, Python, and data transformation techniques • Experience developing in cloud-based data platforms • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery environments • Experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments • Experience supporting data platforms or analytics programs • Hands-on experience with data platforms • Proficiency with ETL/ELT frameworks • Experience with streaming or near-real-time data ingestion • Familiarity with data governance, metadata, and classification standards • Experience mentoring junior data engineers • US Citizen or US Person (Lawful resident, refugee, or asylee) required • Must obtain and maintain a Public Trust • Excellent oral and written presentation and communication skills • Ability to work with high-level customer stakeholders • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Preferred certifications: Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Snowflake SnowPro Core, Databricks Certified Data Professional, AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified Data Engineer, or associate/professional cloud platform certifications
