📋 Description

• Provide system administration support for Linux operating systems, including software installation, patching, file-system management, performance monitoring, and alert troubleshooting • Configure and troubleshoot RHEL 9 systems, servers, hardware, and application software • Perform system failure analysis and recovery • Monitor interface programs between enterprise systems and review daily logs • Perform incremental and full cold backups and patching • Provide CPU, disk usage, and network uptime metrics and charts • Maintain, upgrade, and install servers in coordination with data center personnel • Apply DoW Linux Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) • Remediate ACAS/Tenable and OpenSCAP security findings through patching, configuration updates, and service hardening • Configure and maintain firewalld/iptables and auditd • Develop and document mitigation strategies and POA&Ms for Linux vulnerabilities • Compile technical evidence, OpenSCAP reports, and configuration artifacts for CORA inspection teams • Develop and maintain automation and scripted deployment solutions for provisioning, configuration management, and compliance validation • Use Git or local repositories to deploy security errata and software updates across air-gapped or restricted networks • Work with IaC engineers using Ansible and Terraform • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and day-to-day and emergency support documentation • Coordinate with project and team leadership to meet deadlines and objectives • Deliver training sessions as needed and present ideas in team and project discussions

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of demonstrated experience administering RHEL 8/9 servers • Secret Security Clearance required • US Citizenship Required • Direct experience in Linux system administration, CLI operations, user management, and package patching • Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting RHEL 9 systems • Experience handling NFS, CIFS, and SMB permissions • Hands-on experience applying DISA STIGs to RHEL systems using SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC) or OpenSCAP • Experience reviewing ACAS/Tenable vulnerability reports and executing Linux-specific remediation • Understanding of PKI certificate installation and PAM/SSSD authentication integration • Strong Linux administration skills with knowledge of enterprise network architectures • Experience developing automation and scripted deployments • Scripting for automation (Bash, Python) • Understanding of Linux internals (system calls, file systems, processes) • Working knowledge of TCP/IP and related protocols (HTTP, FTP, NFS) • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related technical discipline preferred • Experience with Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Red Hat Satellite Server, and DoD Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) CORA preparation desired • RHCSA or RHCE desired
