• Respond to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, repair, and perform planned maintenance on progressively complex customer biomedical equipment • Evaluate complex customer biomedical equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs • Perform planned maintenance, safety and environmental inspections, and maintain customer relations • Follow and guide others regarding GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and required documentation • Communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues • Establish proactive daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and follow-up • Implement GE/customer facility contracts in support of business goals and objectives • Lead, instruct, and assist technicians on basic and complex repairs • Work as a member of the local team to provide service delivery to assigned accounts • Share on-call/pager responsibility • Document repair actions and submit reports/summaries • Maintain care, calibration, and inventory of spares, tools, test equipment, and parts • Manage vendors' service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies • Maintain technical knowledge of standards, codes, and procedures for safe and effective medical equipment use • May serve as Site Leader and direct activities of Biomedical Technicians assigned to a site • Meet Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety, regulatory, quality, and compliance requirements • Complete required quality and compliance training • Identify and report customer quality or compliance concerns to the Quality Organization
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of experience servicing medical equipment; OR equivalent military education and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical or mechanical equipment; OR High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of experience servicing medical equipment • Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy to understand manner • Must comply with GEHC's standard background check, including a post-offer drug test • Must comply with customer access policies, including required immunizations and additional drug tests or background checks as applicable • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted • Must frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods • Must be able to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, and have good hand and finger dexterity • Specific vision abilities may include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception • Willingness to be available after hours or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends • Legally authorized to work in the United States • GE HealthCare will not sponsor employment visas
