📋 Description

• Conduct audits of Staff Counsel files to measure and ensure quality case handling, reporting, and compliance with policies and procedures • Provide post-audit feedback to management on cases needing immediate attention and policy or procedure violations • Provide independent recommendations to senior management • Communicate findings and recommendations, including policy loopholes, gaps, and reporting irregularities • Prepare and present audit-trend reports to senior management and Staff Counsel Managers • Recommend improvements to the audit process, policies, and procedures • Assist in developing best practices • Adhere to the GEICO Code of Conduct, company policies, and operating principles • Travel to Staff Counsel offices across the country

🎯 Requirements

• Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in applicable jurisdictions • Must meet and maintain licensing requirements, including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements where applicable • Minimum seven years of litigation experience, including insurance defense or personal injury • Must be able to travel to Staff Counsel offices across the country at least 25% of the time • Must be able to perform essential functions including concentrating, reading, writing, listening, typing, speaking, bending, reaching, lifting, and standing for extended periods, with or without accommodation • Must be able to use a keyboard and mouse • Must be able to access and utilize multiple pieces of office equipment simultaneously • Must communicate professionally in person, by telephone, and through written correspondence/email • Must document files clearly, concisely, and professionally • Must follow complex instructions and resolve or facilitate conflict resolution • Strong organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills • Must learn and apply substantial technical and procedural information • Must demonstrate successful primary responsibility for cases of significant severity and complexity • At this time, GEICO will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization
