📋 Description

• Perform installation and initial start-ups • Perform mechanical work in electrical substations • Inspect equipment, structures, and materials at designated sites to identify causes of errors, problems, or defects • Service, repair, and adjust equipment operating largely on mechanical principles • Analyze information and evaluate results to select solutions and resolve customer issues • Perform physically demanding activities requiring considerable dexterity and agility • Support GE Factory Production and other GE departments as needed • Operate man lifts and reach fork trucks • Supervise and direct contractors, customer personnel, and junior GE Field Technicians • Complete Field Service Reports, timecards, and expense reports accurately and promptly • Interface between GE and the customer • Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and modify GE high-voltage circuit breakers, disconnect switches, and capacitor banks

🎯 Requirements

• Associate's degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or a highly related field • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience, with preference for field experience • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings • Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time within the US and abroad via air travel and car rental • Preferred experience in troubleshooting and repair of electrical control circuits • Preferred experience in mechanical assembly of circuit breakers • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable • Ability to operate man lifts and reach fork trucks
