📋 Description

• Perform installation and commissioning of drive systems, power systems, automation systems, or dynamic positioning systems at customer sites during ship construction • Troubleshoot problems at scheduled port visits or at sea, determine resolutions, and implement corrective actions • Perform engineering tasks to ensure technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of equipment • Develop commissioning and maintenance procedures and execute customer training • Execute onsite project management and technical leadership duties to resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfaction • Identify sales opportunities for service agreements, spare parts, training, and upgrades • Provide on-call support for customer service calls • Assist in the growth and direction of the North American business • Support engineering teams working on customer upgrade projects • Complete timely service reports and administrative requirements • Perform work onboard vessels in shipyards or offshore according to GE/customer safety guidelines • Travel domestically or overseas to customer sites for extended periods

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university; OR Associate's Degree or related discipline with a minimum of 5 additional years of related industry experience; OR school diploma or GED equivalency with a minimum of 8 years of related industry experience • Ability and willingness to travel 85% of the time on short notice • Must be physically fit to board vessels offshore • Potential offshore workers must be able to pass Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) and an offshore survival course • US Person with the ability to achieve security clearance for Department of Defense projects • Background in a customer-facing position within a Service environment • Ability to execute increasingly complicated assignments requiring engineering skill, creative ability, and independent judgment • Strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude, including MS Office applications • Ability to work in construction-type settings, shipyards, offshore locations, and onboard ships • Ability to work extended hours/overtime during peak periods and emergencies • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
