📋 Description

• Lead and own complex root-cause analyses with significant customer-specific or fleet-wide impact • Own the end-to-end process from problem definition and data acquisition through root-cause validation and CAPA implementation • Drive cross-functional problem-solving and corrective actions across product line, service shops, manufacturing, sourcing, field teams, and design engineering • Communicate issue-resolution progress, technical findings, risk assessments, and corrective actions to field engineers, executive leadership, customers, and internal stakeholders • Define investigation strategies and guide hypothesis development • Validate analytical and field evidence • Mentor engineers in best practices for ER and RCA workstreams • Author and maintain Design Practices, Standard Work, and Lessons Learned documentation • Drive continuous improvement and institutionalize technical knowledge • Support customers by resolving vibration, power train dynamics, and operability issues affecting gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators • Drive data- and model-based solutions and fleet-wide reliability improvements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics or related STEM field from an accredited college or university • Minimum 10 years of experience in a mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or controls related capacity • Minimum 8 years of vibration and diagnostics experience • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10–20%) • Willingness to provide off-hours/weekend support for emergency issue resolution • Proven experience leading structured problem-solving approaches for complex mechanical and system issues • Mastery of RCA methodologies and tools, including 8D, Mind Mapping, and Gantt • Significant experience troubleshooting and investigating rotating machinery and power train systems • Strong interpersonal, leadership, oral, and written communication skills • Experience interacting directly with customers • Project management skills, including planning, prioritization, and execution of multi-threaded RCA investigations • Experience with vibration data collection, DAQ systems, preferably ADRE 408, instrumentation, and testing techniques • Experience with numerical methods, basic finite element analysis, and rotordynamic calculations • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
