• Travel locally within the wind hub • Maintain optimal function and output at the wind site • Perform daily turbine operations, safety, quality control, and warranty repairs • Work with site and hub leadership to execute contractual obligations and customer requirements • Work on electrical and mechanical equipment used in GE wind turbine generators • Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement of parts to correct malfunctions • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines • Support all areas of site operations as directed by the manager with minimal supervision • Observe all safety requirements • Perform diagnostic electrical analysis • Document work using computer-based service reporting procedures • Work with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary • Partner and communicate with the Site Lead and Manager to meet contract requirements and timelines
• High School Diploma or GED, and 1+ year(s) experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completed Wind Certificate Program/Associate’s Degree in Energy, or 2 years of electrical work experience • Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment • Basic computer skills • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license • Ability to handle repetitive weight of 50 lbs. • Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet daily • Must meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300 lbs. including required gear • Ability and willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry facilities • Ability to prioritize work according to contract obligations • Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and on-call per site needs • Occasional overnights may be required • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited college or university (desired) • Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field (desired) • Wind turbine experience • Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience • Experience using hydraulic power tools • Experience with heavy equipment for facility maintenance and working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
