📋 Description

• Translate, edit, and/or transcribe legal documents and audio files from English to Turkish • Handle law enforcement and legal subject matter • Edit audio transcriptions containing slang and idioms, if applicable • Edit legal documents such as affidavits and depositions • Demonstrate command of legal terminology in English and Turkish • Follow government client style guides and quality standards • Use domain-specific terminology • Review and certify other translators’ work quality, as needed • Mirror source document formatting in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Perform work remotely on an as-needed basis

🎯 Requirements

• U.S. citizenship • Willingness to undergo a U.S. government background check to obtain a Public Trust Clearance • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • At least 3 years of experience in legal documentation, translating, and/or editing between English and a foreign language • At least 1 year of audio transcription experience, if applicable • Ability to use software to enhance sound and equipment to aid in transcription, if applicable • Familiarity with legal terminology in English and the target foreign language(s) • Proficiency in Microsoft Office • Proficient use of CAT tools such as Trados Studio • Advanced Proficiency (ILR level 3-plus) in reading, speaking, listening, and writing English and the target foreign language • ATA, NAJIT, or other relevant professional certification preferred
