📋 Description

• Own the end-to-end billing cycle for subscription, usage-based, and outcome-based contracts • Issue accurate invoices and manage billing schedules through upgrades, mid-term changes, renewals, credits, and true-ups • Maintain revenue and deferred revenue schedules under ASC 606 • Own month-end close journal entries for revenue, accounts receivable, and related accounts • Prepare monthly reconciliations, roll-forwards, variance analyses, and close-ready reporting • Support review of new and modified contracts for revenue treatment, including standalone selling price allocation, contract modifications, and variable consideration • Document revenue treatment conclusions and partner with Sales on contract questions • Own commission accrual and payout cycle with FP&A, Sales, and People Operations • Capitalize and amortize commissions and other costs to obtain a contract under ASC 340-40 • Manage cash receipts, payment application, AR aging, collections cadence, and allowance for credit losses • Deliver weekly, monthly, and ad hoc AR reporting and metrics to management • Escalate at-risk balances with Sales and Customer Success • Serve as frontline contact for customer and internal billing questions • Partner with Sales, Deal Desk, Legal, and FP&A on contracts, forecasting, revenue, and billings inputs • Improve quote-to-cash processes across NetSuite and Tabs • Maintain internal controls and audit-ready support • Serve as a key revenue contact for external auditors

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in revenue accounting, billing, or order-to-cash roles, including ownership of a monthly revenue close • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • Revenue accounting experience at a technology or SaaS company with recurring and usage-based revenue streams • Working knowledge of ASC 606 for subscription and usage-based revenue models, including deferred revenue, contract modifications, and variable consideration • NetSuite proficiency required, including familiarity with the Advanced Revenue Management module • Hands-on experience with a dedicated billing platform required, ideally Tabs or a comparable system such as Zuora, Ordway, Maxio, or Stripe Billing • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and high-volume reconciliation • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills • Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing deadlines, and maintain a close timeline without sacrificing accuracy • Willingness to learn and contribute to a fast-paced team • Familiarity with ASC 340-40 is a plus • CPA license preferred but not required
