📋 Description

• Query, calculate, transform, and manipulate large complex data using SQL, Python, R, or similar tools • Identify problems and assess their impact across large datasets using data mining, predictive modeling, simulation, and visualization • Develop analytical solutions for hypothetical business needs using appropriate models and methods • Perform exploratory data analysis and reasonableness checks to verify data adequacy • Design, develop, and validate predictive and prescriptive solutions to inform decisions and recommendations • Perform advanced ad-hoc assignments with minimal guidance while ensuring accuracy, appropriateness, and completeness • Collaborate with finance, accounting, engineering, platform teams, R&D, IT, and other functions • Coach, mentor, and lead team members in researching, developing, implementing, and applying innovative actuarial models and methods • Develop insurance pricing, estimate reserves, forecast trends, manage risk, and model the financial impact of uncertain future events

🎯 Requirements

• Mastery of actuarial principles for ratemaking, reserving, and other actuarial analyses • Strong experience developing analytical solutions using R, Python, or similar tools, including reserving software • Mastery of code-based and GUI-based modern data visualization tools • Experience querying, combining, and transforming large and complex data using SQL, Python, R, or similar tools • Experience applying advanced probability, statistics, statistical modeling, data mining, machine learning, or deep learning techniques • High-level organizational and project management skills • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills • Strong oral and written communication, including active listening • Ability to present and make recommendations across departments and leadership • Ability to collaborate with and influence multidisciplinary groups • Working knowledge of reserving software such as ResQ and Arius • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field required • 6–8 years of experience with actuarial ratemaking and reserving, statistics, data science, and/or related quantitative experience required • 2+ years of experience in a leadership capacity required • Candidates requiring visa sponsorship cannot be considered
