📋 Description

• Obtain detailed and accurate benefit information from payer portals, by phone, or fax • Validate and document patient and policy information in the Homecare Homebase EMR • Document deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximums • Monitor insurance verification and authorization task workflows • Verify Medicare eligibility and review entitlement verification reports • Review insurance changes and funding source updates • Reverify Medicaid patients and current patient insurance monthly • Contact patients, hospitals, physician offices, and insurance companies to clarify benefits and authorizations • Assist scheduling with funding source problems • Obtain initial, prior, ongoing, and reauthorizations • Maintain the authorization tab in HCHB • Provide clinical information requested by insurance companies • Notify clinical staff of authorization approvals and denials • Assist billing with insurance verification and authorization discrepancies • Maintain knowledge of payer portals • Comply with company Core Values and Core Competencies • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Must live in the Eastern Time Zone • Must be willing to work every other Saturday • Minimum of one (1) year of previous experience in insurance verification, authorization, or medical billing • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party insurance and authorization requirements • Knowledge of insurance websites and payer portals • Homecare Homebase (HCHB) experience strongly preferred • Associate degree or combination of experience and business courses preferred • Must have and maintain in good standing a professional license, certificate, or registration, as applicable • Availability weekends, holidays, and after hours based on business needs • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen • Legally authorized to work in the United States
