• Lead, coach, and supervise Area Managers, local operations personnel, and drivers • Establish a culture focused on safety, accountability, operational excellence, and customer service • Monitor, document, and evaluate employee performance • Provide coaching, feedback, recognition, and corrective action • Ensure compliance with company employment policies and coordinate disciplinary actions with Human Resources • Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and employee retention • Monitor regional profit-and-loss performance and implement corrective measures • Develop and execute regional operating strategies supporting safety, service, compliance, and profitability • Adjust operational strategies and daily activities to achieve performance and profit objectives • Manage regional revenue, expenses, labor, maintenance costs, vendor spending, and other financial indicators • Create and maintain systems for tracking operational and financial results • Recruit and hire qualified employees with Human Resources • Communicate job expectations and conduct or coordinate new-hire and safety training • Review staffing levels and schedules to meet operational needs • Ensure accurate and timely employee timekeeping and required reports • Oversee safe and efficient operation of trucks, trailers, and related equipment • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, environmental regulations, and company policies • Partner with Environmental Managers to maintain regional regulatory compliance • Hold managers, drivers, and team members accountable for safety, service, and performance • Build relationships with customers and job-site representatives • Address operational and customer-service concerns • Inspect operational sites, equipment, and company property • Maintain clean, safe, professional, and compliant work locations • Report significant operational, equipment, safety, or property concerns to the General Manager • Ensure completion of daily operational reports, safety meetings, time reports, and supporting documentation • Manage vendors and service providers • Oversee properties supporting regional operations and compliance with regulations, leases, and landlord expectations • Use required personal protective equipment and perform additional assigned duties
• High school diploma or GED required • Previous multi-site operations management experience required • Proven experience managing operations, employees, equipment, budgets, and customer relationships • Experience in waste management, organic recycling, transportation, environmental services, agriculture, or a related industry preferred • Experience managing DOT-regulated transportation operations strongly preferred • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications • Familiarity with customer relationship management and operational tracking systems preferred • Ability to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions in English • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record required • Class A CDL preferred • Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance • Leadership, coaching, and employee-development skills • Financial and profit-and-loss management abilities • Sound judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills • Strong organizational and time-management abilities • Ability to prioritize responsibilities across multiple locations • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong customer-service and relationship-management abilities • Ability to manage conflict and hold employees accountable • Ability to accurately complete and maintain required documentation • Ability to analyze data from multiple systems and use it to guide operational decisions • Ability to learn new computer applications and operational systems quickly • Ability to adapt communication and leadership styles to different situations • Willingness to assist other employees and departments when needed
