📋 Description

• Apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial information • Reconcile financial statements • Prepare general and standard journal entries • Assist in budget development • Prepare standard accounting and financial reports for management • Compile and analyze financial information for financial statements and accounting reports • Make journal entries for the general ledger by checking calculations, reviewing figures, and reconciling balances • Review budgets, revenue, expenses, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents • Research and resolve discrepancies • Perform bank reconciliations and wire transfers for deposits • Make mortgage payments and distributions and ensure accuracy • Maintain and coordinate accounting control procedures • Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend budget levels for expenditure control • Analyze and review accounting and financial resources for property acquisitions, dispositions, closings, budgets, expenditures, funding, contracts, grants, and corporate transactions • Liaise with internal and external auditors, provide research data, explain journal entries and transactions, and answer audit questions • Communicate with on-site and other property managers to support pre-close and close activities and ensure timely accounting processes and reporting • Complete financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analyses • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, from an accredited college or university • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or a financial setting • Experience demonstrating application and usage of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) • Employment history demonstrating an accounting and financial background sufficient to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports in accordance with accounting, finance, budgeting, and cost control principles • Proactive, self-directed, highly motivated • Time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously • Proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs • Strong analytical skills • Familiarity with financial and property management systems (Yardi, One Site, etc.) • Comprehensive understanding of accounting and finance best practices and relevant laws and regulations
