📋 Description

• Apply GAAP to analyze financial information • Reconcile financial statements and prepare general and standard journal entries • Assist in budget development • Prepare standard accounting and financial reports for management • Compile and analyze financial information for financial statements and accounting reports • Record journal entries in the general ledger and check calculations, figures, and reconciliations • Review budgets, revenue, expenses, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents • Research and resolve discrepancies • Perform bank reconciliations and wire transfers for deposits • Make mortgage payments and distributions and ensure accuracy • Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend budget levels for expenditure control • Analyze and review accounting and financial resources for property acquisitions, dispositions, and closings • Review budgets and expenditures for funding, contracts, grants, and corporate financial and accounting transactions • Liaise with internal and external auditors, provide research data, explain journal entries and transactions, and answer audit questions • Communicate with on-site and property managers to support pre-close and close activities and ensure timely accounting processes • Complete financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analyses • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred • 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial setting, with experience demonstrating application and usage of GAAP preferred • Employment history demonstrating accounting and financial background sufficient to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports according to accounting, finance, budgeting, and cost control principles • Proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs • Strong analytical skills • Familiarity with financial and property management systems such as Yardi and One Site • Comprehensive understanding of accounting and finance best practices and relevant laws and regulations • Ability to be proactive, self-directed, highly motivated, and manage multiple projects simultaneously • Time management skills
