📋 Description

• Own and communicate a multi-year data strategy and roadmap, including migration milestones, team growth, and investment asks • Modernize the platform by transitioning from Crystal Reports and Oracle to Databricks and Power BI • Define architecture, data modeling, and engineering standards for the new platform • Build data connectivity across the company and establish governance, quality, and observability practices • Build a data science function from scratch, including defining its charter and hiring its first members • Establish partnerships between data science, product, and engineering to turn AI ambitions into data requirements and infrastructure • Grow and develop reporting, data, and analytics engineering teams • Build in-house expertise alongside external partners • Establish modern data organization practices including code review, documentation, and on-call • Partner with company leaders to improve operational and strategic decision-making through data

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data leadership • 4+ years managing teams • Track record of developing people through significant change • Experience leading a legacy-to-modern data platform migration • Direct experience with Databricks and Power BI, or a comparable modern cloud data/BI stack, in a hands-on or architectural capacity • Experience building or scaling a data science or analytics function, including hiring its first members • Strong fundamentals in data architecture, data modeling, and data governance • Experience managing external partners while growing in-house capability • Excellent communication skills; comfortable presenting data strategy and trade-offs to senior and executive stakeholders • Bonus familiarity with Crystal Reports or Oracle, data infrastructure for ML/AI features, or product-led/SaaS organizations with data governance experience relevant to HR or healthcare
