📋 Description

• Own Guidebook's accounting operations end to end • Run the monthly close, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets • Manage accounts receivable, customer invoicing, payment collection, billing questions, and order-to-cash coordination • Manage accounts payable, vendor setup, bill runs, payment discrepancies, and weekly disbursements • Maintain a rolling cash forecast and identify potential issues • Process payroll and reconcile payroll general ledger accounts • Administer corporate cards and expense platform and enforce expense policy • Produce monthly reporting packages and P&L and balance sheet variance analysis • Prepare monthly packages for the external CPA and support tax filings, audits, and lender or investor diligence • Own NetSuite, maintain the chart of accounts, and identify automation opportunities • Document and improve accounting processes and build appropriate controls • Liaise with the outside CPA firm and provide requested financial data and documentation • Assist with annual budgeting and financial performance variance tracking • Manage insurance portfolio and review contracts for indemnity clauses and contractor Certificates of Insurance • Report directly to the President and work with a fractional CFO/Principal • Meet 1-, 3-, and 12-month objectives for systems access, close ownership, process documentation, reporting, and automation

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of accounting experience • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field • Experience owning the month-end close end to end • Ability to explain reconciliations, checks, and resolution of discrepancies • Day-to-day expertise with NetSuite • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision • Ability to identify, fix, and document manual or ineffective processes • Clear written communication skills • Ability to work as the sole accounting team member • Must be based on the East Coast of the USA • Remote work capability
