📋 Description

• Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, cash management, reconciliations, month-end close, and reporting • Establish and maintain financial controls, accounting policies, procedures, and documentation • Coordinate information and documentation for annual financial audits, incurred cost submissions, benefits audits, tax filings, government contracting requirements, and other compliance activities • Ensure compliance with GAAP, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS) • Maintain and optimize DCAA-compliant accounting systems • Lead evaluation, selection, and implementation of AI and machine learning tools for financial operations, including predictive forecasting, anomaly detection, and workflow automation • Collaborate with IT to integrate AI tools with ERP and accounting systems such as Unanet and Paylocity • Identify and automate routine accounting tasks to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy • Establish controls, approval workflows, documentation, access restrictions, and segregation of duties for automated and AI-assisted financial processes • Monitor accuracy, reliability, security, compliance, and effectiveness of AI-assisted processes • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning • Prepare or review indirect rate structures and ensure timely submission of incurred cost submissions (ICS) • Interface with external auditors, government agencies, and internal stakeholders during financial reviews and audits • Lead and mentor a small team of finance professionals and analysts • Promote innovation and continuous improvement through emerging technologies

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required • CPA or MBA strongly preferred • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting/financial management within a government contracting environment • Experience with 8(a) multiple entities, Small Business regulations, and OCONUS work • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, FAR, DFARS, and CAS requirements • Experience with DCAA audits and compliance reporting • Hands-on experience with Unanet (strongly preferred) or other accounting/ERP systems used in federal contracting • Ability to be Unanet administrator • Experience with M&A due diligence and accounting integration • Proven experience identifying and implementing AI or automation tools in a financial setting
