📋 Description

• Lead and conduct Threat Actor Communications engagements • Advise clients, legal counsel, and insurance carriers on risks, benefits, and considerations for communicating with threat actors in ransomware and data-extortion cases • Operate as a technical resource within the Practice and participate in DFIR investigations to share and identify actionable intelligence • Communicate effectively, manage time, and collaborate with peers and clients • Foster client relationships by providing support, information, and guidance • Author engagement deliverables tailored to technical and managerial audiences, detailing findings, recommendations, business impact, and remediation strategies • Use automation, orchestration, and scripting to reduce manual processes and improve efficiency • Contribute to integrating open-source and commercial tools or automation into GRIT processes and procedures • Continuously strengthen relevant information-security skills and knowledge • Support a rotating on-call schedule, including weekend work as needed for emergency requirements

🎯 Requirements

• 2–4 years of prior experience communicating with threat actors, including virtual persona operations, ransomware negotiations, or “sock puppet” accounts in Deep and Dark Web collection • 2+ years of experience performing Threat Intelligence analysis and/or collection • Experience in intelligence-sharing relationships and partnerships within the private sector, ISACs, government, and/or private intelligence-sharing groups • Experience building and developing persona operations • Familiarity with dark web forums and marketplaces, adversary behavior, and trust mechanisms • Familiarity with digital forensics and incident response workflows, processes, and deliverables • Experience in client-facing, professional services, or consulting roles • Experience using emerging technologies, including AI tools • Willingness and ability to support a rotating on-call schedule, including possible weekend work • Sedentary work capability • Ability to perform substantial wrist, hand, and/or finger movement for at least 8 hours daily • Close visual acuity for computer-terminal viewing and/or extensive reading for at least 8 hours daily
