📋 Description

• Provide timely and appropriate patient health information to internal and external parties for HarmonyCares Medical Group, Home Health and Hospice • Comply with HIPAA and state and federal regulations related to patient health information • Process external and internal medical records requests and fulfillments • Maintain the record system for all incoming and outgoing patient records • Review, obtain approvals, and fulfill releases of information • Request patient records from external parties • Review, separate, and upload requested patient records • Answer telephone calls and assist with questions related to external medical record requests • Monitor fax, email, and mail for medical record requests and fulfillments • Collaborate with Compliance/Privacy, IT Security, Revenue Cycle, Coding, Clinical Teams, and Legal • Assist with timely medical record submissions in response to payor audit requests • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent • Two (2) years’ experience in a hospital or medical office • HIPAA knowledge training • Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience • Previous experience handling patient health information, medical records document imaging and/or medical records • Ability to stoop, bend, push or lift up to 30lbs • Successful completion of Medical Terminology class preferred • Registered Health Information Associate (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred • Aprima (EHR) experience preferred • Knowledge of CMS, state and Joint Commission regulations preferred
