📋 Description

• Analyze insurance and patient payments posted to patient accounts to determine causes of credit balances • Understand payor contracts regarding payments and refunds • Use appropriate software and reporting to identify credit balances and determine refund actions • Identify overpayments and request refunds to the appropriate party in compliance with hospital policies and procedures • Process and post payments, refunds, and adjustments to ensure account accuracy and customer satisfaction • Facilitate account resolution of refunds through attention to detail, problem solving, and customer service • Monitor and report trends to leadership and document cash posting, credit balance, and refunding issues • Participate in special projects to improve department operations • Develop workflows to improve internal processes and efficiency • Partner with other teams and team members to resolve outstanding items • Maintain the MEDHOST Quality Management System and meet applicable regulatory requirements • Accurately enter and submit time by departmental deadlines • Book travel according to company travel policy • Recommend, maintain, and update department documentation • Maintain documentation regarding customer interactions • Provide training in areas of expertise and support training documents as required • Maintain in-depth knowledge of software core products • Attend and participate in team and departmental meetings • Maintain application and industry knowledge through self-study and training classes • Respond to email and phone communications in a timely manner • Adhere to HIPAA privacy, security, and compliance requirements • Assist leadership with recommended improvements • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Basic knowledge of business office terminology • Proven ability to understand and interpret reasons for patient accounting credit balances and payor overpayments • Knowledge of the full revenue cycle process • Good interpersonal skills, including effective written and verbal communication • Detail-oriented, organized, analytical, able to multitask, and able to function effectively under stress • Ability to demonstrate supportive relationships with peers, clients, partners, and corporate executives • Flexible with a “can do” attitude and ability to remain professional under high-pressure situations • Ability to retain and protect confidential material • Able to prioritize customer issues and escalate or solve them with urgency • 2 years or more experience in reimbursement and/or accounts receivable, hospital or hospital central billing office setting • Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards when no directions are given • Computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • AS400 knowledge • Customer service orientation • High Speed Internet access with minimum 300 Mbps download speed and unlimited data • Smartphone for Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) application
