📋 Description

• Own and drive all facets of Research & Development for Harris School Solutions' FINS growth products • Lead continuous product research and development to improve existing products and expand web and cloud capabilities on a standard technical platform • Embed AI into products and engineering practices, shifting from AI experimentation to AI at scale • Raise developer productivity through AI-assisted coding and testing • Translate business goals and product requirements into actionable development plans and prioritized AI roadmaps • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget • Drive adoption and standards for AI developer tooling, including GitHub Copilot and agentic coding assistants • Lead delivery of AI-enabled capabilities for K12 finance, HR, and administrative workflows • Establish responsible AI practices covering data privacy, FERPA and state requirements, model governance, human-in-the-loop controls, and customer transparency • Communicate strategy, executive updates, development progress, and issues • Manage onsite and offshore development teams and inspire a 40+ person team • Foster cross-business-unit collaboration and share AI learnings and reusable components • Provide technical direction for product development and support services • Evaluate organizational structure, technology, and engineering practices and implement improvements • Track industry trends and emerging technologies, particularly AI • Interview, hire, coach, develop, assign work, manage performance, and manage department budgets • Report to the Executive Vice President, Harris School Solutions, FINS Enterprise Solutions

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of management experience leading software development teams • P&L experience • Portfolio management of multiple products and tech stacks • Hands-on familiarity with AI-assisted development tools • Demonstrated experience delivering AI or machine-learning capabilities into production software • Agile expertise • Experience in public sector or K12 solutions • SaaS deployments and infrastructure experience • Experience with AI platforms, LLM integration, or building agentic and copilot-style experiences into enterprise applications • Track record of establishing responsible AI or data governance practices in a regulated environment • Innovative examples of driving measurable value in products • Strong people management and hands-on software development experience • Deep knowledge of Microsoft technologies and the multi-tooled AI ecosystem • Fluency with modern AI-assisted development practices • Working command of the agile scrum process
