HCV Underwriting Managers is an underwriting manager and insurance product provider specializing in cover for heavy commercial vehicles (trucks, trailers, plant/“yellow goods”) and goods in transit. The company issues and administers tailored insurance products—Truck + Care, Load + Care, Owner Driver + Care—and offers value-added services like roadside assistance, windscreen cover and personal cover, working through brokers and directly with owner-drivers and fleets. HCV is an authorised financial services provider and its products are underwritten by a licensed non-life insurer.

📋 Description

• Analyze business requirements and determine appropriate tools, approaches, standards, and best practices • Collaborate with team members on technology application and product delivery standards and frameworks • Follow repeatable and scalable processes for collecting, designing, and prioritizing work • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify trends, needs, and opportunities • Stay current with leading technology products and techniques • Develop working knowledge of key business processes and advise the business on technology solutions • Conduct testing of software deployments and updates • Assist with project management, including project plans, timelines, and deliverables • Participate in systems and process testing and quality assurance • Provide end-user support and training on new systems and processes • Drive the design and implementation of technology platforms with a diverse team and vendors

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; OR 5+ years of progressive experience in financial services, insurance, or data analytics industry • Proven success in business requirements gathering, design and development proper documentation for prioritization within the overall roadmap and technology direction • Knowledge of business key performance indicators (KPIs), with a preference in KPIs for the risk, insurance, and claims industry • Demonstrated ability in business facilitation and effective use of project management techniques/tools • Client facing experience is required • Ability to travel up to 15% of the year • 2+ years Insurance Company, MGA or TPA experience preferred • 5+ years of Business Analyst experience preferred • Experience in the commercial insurance industry and regulatory environment • Project management experience and managing business projects for the full life cycle, from inception to implementation • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills • Understanding of commercial insurance and claims processes/services • Working knowledge of insurance technology, including policy and program administration systems • Understanding of Agile project management and development process • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Ability to work dynamically between IT, Operations, and Underwriting Programs • Ability to synthesize requests, uncover trends, make recommendations about business performance implications, communicate findings and recommendations to varied audiences and the overall technology roadmap • Self-motivated and innovative, with ability to set direction, organize and manage own work, and collaborate effectively • Relationship building • Conflict resolution • Team player • Project management • Financial analysis • Commercial acumen • Communication and presentation acumen • Must live in the United States and be authorized to work in the United States without employment sponsorship/visa
