📋 Description

• Independently manage the recurring accounting and month-end close responsibilities • Own the monthly close process from start to finish • Review and code daily bank and credit card transactions in QuickBooks Online • Record semimonthly payroll journal entries based on payroll provider reports • Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and other accounting adjustments • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules • Review financial activity for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate accounting treatment • Prepare monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows • Maintain accounting workpapers and close documentation • Support year-end audit requests and schedules • Review new grants, contracts, or funding agreements for accounting treatment and reporting requirements • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and increase efficiency • Complete the monthly close within the first week of the following month

🎯 Requirements

• Active CPA license in good standing in any U.S. state • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience • Demonstrated experience independently managing month-end close • Strong knowledge of accrual-based accounting and U.S. GAAP • Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online • Experience preparing complete financial statements • Strong account reconciliation and analytical skills • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • U.S.-based
