📋 Description

• Review and analyze diagnostic and procedural information from patient medical records using established coding principles • Code complex outpatient cases with precision to support accurate reimbursement and billing processes • Abstract and compile patient data for medical research projects, care evaluation, and administrative decision-making • Maintain strict adherence to coding guidelines, third-party reimbursement policies, and regulatory requirements • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and quality benchmarks • Contribute to provider-patient continuity through accurate, reliable data management • Optimize reimbursement outcomes while maintaining coding accuracy and integrity

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required • Additional specialty coding certification required or five (5) years coding experience • Minimum of two (2) years coding experience required • Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), CPC, or CCS certification required • Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, pharmacology, and coding systems • Specialty coding experience preferred • One to two (1-2) years college or additional coursework in Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration or Medical Record Sciences preferred
