📋 Description

• Use clinical coding knowledge based on the Official Coding Guidelines and AHA Coding Clinic. • Assign ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT codes accurately for Ambulatory Surgery, Gastrointestinal, Infusion, and Observation encounters. • Work closely with physicians, clinical documentation improvement specialists, quality staff, and patient finance staff. • Support billing, research, internal and external reporting, and regulatory compliance. • Follow up on CCI edits, claim rejections, and other issues affecting billing and reimbursement. • Ensure APC accuracy and extract core data into the HIM abstracting system and data warehouse repository.

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent. • Two years acute care outpatient coding with outpatient diagnostic and ED coding. • CIRCC preferred or CPC, CPC-H, CCA, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P certified. • Must be physically located and authorized to work in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or Wisconsin. • Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. • Close eye work involving computers, typing, reading, and writing.
