📋 Description

• Review, analyze, and code diagnostic and procedural information from patient medical records • Ensure accurate reimbursement and billing • Abstract critical information from medical records • Build patient databases supporting medical research initiatives, patient care evaluation, and strategic administrative decision-making • Maintain compliance with coding guidelines, third-party reimbursement policies, and accreditation standards • Optimize reimbursement outcomes • Provide accurate healthcare data and information • Enhance provider-patient continuity • Maintain data integrity • Support informed operational decisions and exceptional patient care

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent • Minimum 2 years of coding experience • Michigan Residency • Current certification in one of the following: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) • Thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology • Thorough knowledge of pathophysiology and disease processes • Thorough knowledge of medical terminology • Thorough knowledge of pharmacology • Thorough knowledge of coding systems and guidelines • Preferred: Specialty coding certification in Interventional Radiology • Preferred: 5+ years of coding experience • Preferred: 1-2 years of college coursework or additional education in Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, or Medical Record Sciences
