📋 Description

• Review, analyze, and code diagnostic and procedural information from patient medical records for billing and reimbursement purposes • Abstract and compile accurate patient data to support medical research, patient care evaluation, and administrative decision-making • Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, third-party reimbursement policies, regulations, and accreditation standards • Promote accurate database information and optimize reimbursement through precise coding practices

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent • Additional specialty coding certification or five (5) years of coding experience • Minimum of two (2) years of coding experience • Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), CPC, or CCS • Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, pharmacology, and coding systems • Preferred: One to two (1-2) years of college or additional coursework in Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, or Medical Record Sciences • Preferred: Specialty coding experience
