📋 Description

• Support the Process Controls Manager and process controls group in developing and improving control processes and technologies • Develop new applications and tools to expand the scope and performance of the process control system • Document standards and interface with the manufacturing network on advanced technologies and data analysis • Design HMI and controls platforms and interface with vendor technical support • Document and define controls changes for manufacturing and technical audiences • Develop instruction code for Allen Bradley PLC, Emerson DeltaV, or equivalent control systems • Develop programs for project implementations across multiple remote sites and collaborate with project and program managers • Investigate new instrumentation and programming technologies, develop testing protocols, and validate technologies for integration • Design and evaluate IT-business and IoT-level networking issues • Provide direction in a remote, matrixed environment and respond to process incidents and new installations • Develop standards and protocols for plant control systems • Participate in and lead project teams to design and specify instrumentation and controls equipment • Provide senior-level instrument and controls support to technicians and senior management • Develop software upgrade programs and manage DCS reliability and downtime • Assist the controls engineering manager with safety-instrumentation reliability calculations and documentation • Work with batching systems and manufacturing execution systems • Support regional specialists with troubleshooting and corrective actions • Design and develop AI-driven models for process improvement using mathematical analysis • Support development of control assets and standards, manage control projects, and introduce technologies throughout the Americas

🎯 Requirements

• BS chemical or electrical engineering or equivalent • 5+ years experience • Good technical writing skills • Good organizational and communication skills • Solid understanding of control system architecture and programming • Ability to manage controls programs • Understanding and utilization of industrial networks such as Modbus, fieldbus, and DeviceNet • Ability to work remotely with multiple sites to troubleshoot emerging issues • Basic understanding of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as SAP PM • Basic understanding of network infrastructure • Experience developing standards and documenting procedures • Ability to update controls documentation using appropriate symbols • Ability to communicate with site maintenance personnel, outside vendors, and upper management • Experience with batch and continuous chemical manufacturing processes • Must be at least 18 years of age • Authorization for the Company to conduct drug testing and background investigations • Previous experience in TwinThread or similar machine analysis software is desirable
