📋 Description

• Own Hometap’s product and marketing event data capture and governance • Manage the event taxonomy and tracking plan for roughly 200 product events • Audit Segment inventory, consolidate duplicates and naming drift, and establish governed object-action naming conventions • Build and maintain the tracking plan and deliberately deprecate events as the product changes • Establish enforcement so tracking standards are gated • Configure and manage Segment Protocols for schema validation and violation handling • Manage sources feeding downstream tools • Advise product and engineering on the hybrid capture model and determine server-side versus client-side event capture • Partner with marketing, product, and engineering on tracking requirements and event specifications • Document tracking standards and run event proposal, approval, and deprecation reviews • Build automated monitoring for schema conformance, event volume, and property completeness • Detect naming drift, type mutation, and metric-impacting shifts before they corrupt downstream metrics

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, Data Analytics, or similar role • Experience with Segment or a similar customer data platform • Familiarity with Amplitude, Mixpanel, PostHog, or GA4 is a plus • Solid grasp of event taxonomy and tracking-plan concepts, including object-action naming, controlled vocabularies, and property typing • SQL proficiency and comfort querying data in a cloud data warehouse • Working knowledge of JSON Schema and JavaScript • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD • Ability to explain tracking standards clearly to marketing, product, and engineering partners and align non-technical stakeholders on governance
