📋 Description

• Abstract and/or audit moderate to highly complex clinical records, data, and other information • Review patient records and other sources to abstract data elements for clinical registries • Ensure compliance with standards of care, policies, procedures, regulations, and accreditation requirements • Identify and report variances, significant data trends, outlier values, and unusual data • Enter data elements and audit findings into registry software and other data collection tools • Maintain accuracy, productivity standards, and competency in registry specifications and protocols • Summarize findings, draw conclusions, and maintain variance reports • Communicate findings to clinical data abstractor leads and/or directors • Establish working relationships with stakeholders, teams, and committees; attend meetings and provide education • Contact patients, families, and outpatient provider clinics for clinical outcomes and registry follow-up documentation • Facilitate and participate in quality assurance audits to ensure inter-rater reliability and acceptable external audit validation results • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Associate's degree in Nursing required • 3 years of experience working in an acute care hospital setting required • Valid Arizona or compact-state Registered Nurse (RN) license required • Candidates assigned to the ACS NSQIP or MBSAQIP registry must complete surgical case reviewer training/certification within 90 days of hire • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred • 1 year of auditing or abstraction experience preferred • 2 years of experience abstracting CMS Core Measures or clinical outcomes registries preferred • Acute care experience in surgery, cardiac, emergency, or critical care preferred
