📋 Description

• Set technical direction for a major infrastructure area over a multi-quarter horizon • Lead multiple infrastructure initiatives in parallel across the central team and feature teams • Design and ship Terraform modules, pipeline patterns, and operational tooling • Evaluate feature-team requests and determine what should become a paved road, remain team-owned, or not be built • Own incident response, on-call quality, deployment reliability, and vendor integration health • Shape engineering guidelines, tools, and methods used across Engine • Coach feature engineers who apply platform standards • Represent the infrastructure team in cross-functional product and engineering leadership discussions • Share shipping updates, align priorities, and pressure-test decisions in twice-weekly team meetings • Reduce unnecessary SDLC approval gates and infrastructure dependencies • Partner with feature teams across business verticals to build platform capabilities

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years building and operating production cloud infrastructure • Deep AWS expertise, including multi-account environments, networking, IAM, and security boundaries • Expert-level Terraform, including reusable modules, state, drift, and execution patterns • Strong CI/CD background with GitHub Actions, reusable workflows, OIDC, and secret management • Track record of shipping platform infrastructure adopted by feature teams • Bias toward enabling teams over gatekeeping • Experience leading technical direction across multiple teams • Ability to make trade-offs precisely, communicate them clearly, and bring other engineers along • Instinct for determining when a problem needs a central solution versus team ownership • Cloudflare production-scale experience strongly preferred • Datadog, JFrog, or comparable vendor integration experience strongly preferred • Cost observability or FinOps tooling background strongly preferred • Platform-team experience serving internal customers strongly preferred
