📋 Description

• Lead, coach, and develop a cloud platform engineering organization of approximately 60 engineers, architects, and associate directors • Establish career paths, performance expectations, and succession plans • Build a product-minded engineering culture focused on customer value, reliability, and operational excellence • Own the cloud platform roadmap with defined outcomes, SLAs, and adoption metrics • Drive platform standardization while supporting diverse application and business needs • Align platform capabilities with enterprise architecture and long-term technology strategy • Oversee design, delivery, and operation of large-scale cloud and Kubernetes platforms • Enable developer self-service through standardized tooling, templates, and automation • Enforce infrastructure-as-code as the standard for platform development and operations • Drive automation across provisioning, configuration, security controls, and lifecycle management • Reduce manual operations through CI/CD, GitOps, and policy-as-code practices • Lead delivery of AI infrastructure platforms, including GPU-enabled compute • Partner with data science and AI teams on experimentation, training, and production-scale inference • Ensure platform teams use Agile and DevOps methodologies • Establish observability, incident management, reliability practices, and platform KPIs • Design and operate secure cloud platforms aligned with healthcare regulatory requirements • Embed security, identity, network segmentation, and compliance automation into platform services • Ensure internal and external audit readiness, including HIPAA and enterprise risk standards • Lead vendor management, contract negotiations, budgets, forecasting, and cloud cost optimization • Influence vendor roadmaps to align with enterprise needs

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of technology experience • 5+ years leading large-scale cloud or platform engineering teams • Experience leading a remote workforce of engineers and architects across multiple teams and technical domains • Deep experience with public cloud platforms and Kubernetes at enterprise scale • Proven success delivering platforms using Agile methodologies and modern DevOps practices • Strong hands-on understanding of Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform, ARM, Bicep, or CloudFormation • Experience delivering and operating AI infrastructure • Strong background in security-focused cloud design and regulated environments • Experience with vendor management, contract negotiation, and financial oversight • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred • Experience in healthcare, financial services, or other highly regulated industries preferred • Familiarity with SRE models, GitOps, and platform product management practices preferred • Experience influencing enterprise or executive-level technology strategy preferred • Candidate must live close to one of Humana’s designated IT locations • Home internet must provide at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds • Must work from a dedicated space without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information
