📋 Description

• Develops and directs the overall strategy of the Business Development department ensuring that the strategy aligns with the organization’s mission and strategic priorities. • Manages the department to ensure that staff achieve their revenue and professional goals, including providing staff with guidance and advice, training, performance management, leadership development, and career development. • Identifies and develops potential successors. • Leads initiatives to engage and cultivate revenue-generating corporate and foundation partnerships, advance the organization’s mission, and expand the reach of the brand and messaging. • Ensures brand consistency in corporate communications and coordinates with staff and stakeholders on effective corporate policy enterprise wide. • Reviews and approves uses of the organization’s trademark in commercial-partner contexts. • Keeps abreast of trends relevant to the department’s operations and strategies and integrates appropriate measures to implement changes/innovations. • Identifies and evaluates new corporate relationship models. • Track and monitor the team’s performance. • Develop, prepare, and monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to track and document team performance. • Engages in cross-departmental planning projects and meetings. • Resolves complex problems for the department and implements solutions that require cross-departmental coordination. • Champion philosophical norms and culture across the region. • Performs other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Nonprofit Operations, or another related field, or equivalent work experience, required. • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in corporate engagement, business development, or nonprofit operations required. • Management experience in a related field, which has included management and leadership responsibilities for staff, strategy development and execution, and fiscal and budget accountabilities, preferably in the animal welfare arena required. • Leadership ability in work setting. Flexible, willing to learn, and anticipates the needs of self and staff. • Ability to set a positive tone for employees during their day. • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive. • Ability to manage issues requiring problem resolution and conflict management with excellent interpersonal and intervention skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • High level of confidence, integrity, interpersonal skills, and a professional executive presence for effectively interacting with and influencing others. • Knowledge of business operations, including effective budget development and management processes. • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence, demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes. • Willing and able to travel. • Knowledge of CRM software preferred. • Strong interest in animal protection issues preferred.
