• Support federal agencies such as U.S. EPA and NIEHS, state agencies, and private sector clients • Conduct qualitative reviews of scientific and peer-reviewed literature • Research environmental risk assessment topics, synthesize findings, and communicate them through reports, websites, and visualizations • Manage data and visualization tools, maintain rigorous databases, and create visualizations and dashboards • Conduct study data extraction using electronic systematic review procedures and tools • Perform data and statistical analysis using Excel, Access, R, SAS, Python, SQL, VBA, and/or other software • Participate in scientific workshops through notetaking, workshop summary reports, and event logistics • Follow standardized QA/QC procedures on documents and reports • Perform toxicology systematic review tasks, including literature screening, study quality evaluation, and study data extraction • Support risk assessment report development, including writing methods, results, and discussion sections • Review conclusions based on data and synthesize findings into weight-of-evidence analyses • Conduct dose-response analyses when needed • Work across multiple projects with staff at all levels and develop professional client relationships • No hands-on laboratory or field work
• Master’s degree in Toxicology, Epidemiology, Public Health, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related subject, or Bachelor’s degree in one of these fields combined with equivalent experience • Minimum 4 years of experience • Ability to interact with and present project updates to clients • Strong data-science skills, including experience managing and visualizing large datasets • Exceptional research and scientific writing skills, including editing, reference management software such as EndNote, and proofreading • Strong qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and visualization skills • Strong written and oral communication skills, including developing and delivering presentations • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently, in groups, and virtually under strict deadlines • Experience with Excel, Access, R, SAS, Python, SQL, VBA, and/or other software • Experience with environmental science systematic reviews is a plus
