📋 Description

• Work under the School Director and/or designee, in collaboration with the Director of Student Support and Facilitator • Support all students in a general education environment on an as-needed basis, including students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) • Provide specialized instruction in accordance with IEPs • Plan, develop, implement, case manage, and update IEPs collaboratively with IEP Teams • Provide academic instruction and develop social, emotional, and educational objectives • Confer and collaborate with parents, facilitators, administrators, and Care Teams • Design teaching strategies and adapt activities, lessons, curriculum, and projects for an inclusive learning environment • Monitor, evaluate, and document learner progress using appropriate measurements and assessment devices • Maintain regular communication with parents through support, coaching, and understanding • Maintain a safe, secure, and effective learning environment and enforce reasonable classroom rules • Implement inclusive practices through co-teaching models • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed • Participate in the Student Study Team process and recommend interventions • Collaborate with facilitators and CARE Teams to provide accommodations and differentiation • Utilize educational technology and computer applications • Pursue continuous professional improvement and perform other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, including all courses to meet credential requirements • Credential(s) to meet the requirement of the assignment as established by state and local governing boards • Appropriate Special Education licensure and required credentials in the state of California, including AAAS (Added Autism Authorization) • Successful completion of a student-teaching/internship program is mandatory • Experience in educating special needs students • Proven effective classroom and learner behavior management skills • Knowledge of current special education practices and methodologies • Knowledge and understanding of state, local and federal regulations and policies affecting special education • Knowledge of current special education technology applications • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds • Ability to travel by public transit and operate a vehicle for self-transportation between worksites when needed • Ability to make informed and quick decisions in high-stress situations • Ability to read detailed documentation and analyze data sets • Professional writing and public speaking abilities
