📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance based on students' Individualized Education Programs • Manage the learning process and focus on individual student needs • Work with students and parents to advance student learning • Ensure special education and related services are provided as determined by the IEP team • Communicate with parents and related service staff regarding appropriate therapies • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required special education documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Implement accommodations and modifications using assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments according to IEPs • Ensure student inclusion and success in the general education classroom • Collect data and work samples to monitor IEP progress • Document parent contacts and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Maintain the grade book and support academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or school requirements as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Appropriate state Department of Education Special Education Teaching Certification required • If certification is from another state, proof of New Mexico license application within 7 days of start date and approved New Mexico teaching license within 90 days of start date • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions • Receptive to regular coaching from administrators • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written/verbal communication skills • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time • Experience working with the proposed age group (desired) • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology (desired) • Experience teaching online or in a brick-and-mortar environment (desired) • Experience with an online learning platform (desired)
