Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Oversee instructional programs for students with special needs in a virtual environment • Provide instructional guidance, virtual teaching, and general strategies for a caseload of students • Develop, write, and help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) • Evaluate tests and assessments; complete report cards and progress reports; conduct parent conferences • Communicate regularly with parents and learning coaches to ensure IEP goals are met • Consult with teachers and coordinate specially designed instruction • Provide direct student services through web-conferencing software as needed • Schedule, organize, and conduct IEP-related meetings virtually • Participate in the school’s Student Support Team • Help teachers and learning coaches develop and implement program modifications and strategies • Assist with IEP paperwork, documentation, and procedures • Locate service providers for students needing related services mandated by IEPs • Maintain accurate, up-to-date data in the Learning Management System and special education software • Assist with state testing and coordinate IEP-required special adaptations • Work with teachers and district professionals to ensure program success and compliance with federal and state regulations • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in Special Education or related Education Field (SPED) • Current Utah teaching license • Priority given to candidates who live in Utah • Candidates in Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, and Wyoming are encouraged to apply • Experience in policy (IDEA) and/or administration with Special Education • Strong technology skills, especially with Google products • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Customer-focused approach • High degree of flexibility and ability to prioritize tasks • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment • Team player track record • Willingness to travel overnight occasionally for school and state testing events • Ability to use a personal electronic device and email address for 2-step authentication
