📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance focused on students’ individual IEP needs • Communicate with parents and related service staff regarding student therapies • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required special education documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Apply accommodations and modifications using assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Modify lessons and assessments according to IEP requirements • Ensure student inclusion and success in the general education classroom • Collect data and work samples to monitor IEP progress • Document parent contacts and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Maintain the grade book and student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Maintain positive rapport and timely communication with families, students, and learning coaches/parents • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development, student testing, or school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Michigan Teaching Certification required • Special Education endorsement required • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written/verbal communication skills • Experience with the proposed age group (desired) • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology (desired) • Experience teaching online or in a brick-and-mortar environment (desired) • Experience with an online learning platform (desired)
