📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Address students’ individual needs as defined by their Individualized Education Programs • Work with students and parents to advance student learning • Complete compliance documentation for students with special needs • Ensure special education and related services are provided according to IEP team determinations • Communicate with parents and related service staff regarding appropriate therapies • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required state-specific special education documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Use resources such as assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text to provide accommodations and modifications • Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments according to IEP requirements • Ensure student inclusion and success in the general education classroom • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals and objectives • Document parent contacts and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Personalize learning and maintain high expectations for all students • Maintain the grade book and student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents • Support learning coaches and parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support student outcomes

🎯 Requirements

• North Carolina Teaching Certification required • Special Education endorsement required • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Residency in North Carolina or a border state within a 30-mile radius; out-of-state residents must have North Carolina teaching certification • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction • Ability to work during typical school hours, 9–5 or 8–4, as defined by the school • Ability to travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions • Receptive to regular coaching from administrators • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Desired: experience with the proposed age group • Desired: experience supporting adults and children using technology • Desired: experience teaching online or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Desired: experience with an online learning platform
