📋 Description

• Perform database upgrades, version migrations, and patch management for SQL Server and PostgreSQL across development, test, and production environments • Plan and execute database deployments, including schema changes, releases, and configuration updates • Monitor database performance, tuning queries, indexes, and configurations to optimize efficiency across both platforms • Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability • Implement and maintain database security controls, access management, and audit logging in line with federal compliance requirements (NIST, FISMA) • Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, working closely with infrastructure and application teams • Support vulnerability remediation and compliance scanning related to database environments • Maintain documentation for database configurations, standard operating procedures, and change records • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to support CI/CD integration for database changes • Partner with Program Management to support contract deliverables and reporting requirements

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL • Demonstrated experience performing database upgrades, patching, and version migrations across SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL • Strong experience with database deployment processes and release management • Experience with backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning • Solid understanding of database security best practices and compliance requirements • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively in a fully remote, distributed team environment • U.S. Citizenship (per contract requirements)
