📋 Description

• Support SelectHealth initiatives by reviewing genetic testing pre-authorization requests, appeals, and medical coverage policies • Educate ordering providers on genetic testing options, insurance and billing matters, test results, and medical management • Provide occasional patient education and counseling regarding genetic test options or results • Conduct utilization review and laboratory stewardship to determine proper test ordering and manage high-priority or complex cases • Participate in individual and team-directed research projects • Present research findings at professional meetings • Prepare manuscripts for submission to professional journals • Communicate clearly and directly with providers and patients verbally and in writing • Participate in peer review by providing and receiving objective, constructive feedback

🎯 Requirements

• Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program • Eligibility for certification by the American Board of Genetic Counselors (ABGC) at time of hire, with certification required within one year of hire • Licensed as a Genetic Counselor in the state of practice (Utah) • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Experience reading, interpreting, and critically evaluating scientific literature • Experience using PowerPoint, word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, e-mail, and scheduling tools • Experience requiring effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Ability to verbally communicate and understand spoken information • Ability to operate computers, telephones, and office equipment and manipulate paper • Ability to see and read computer monitors and documents • Ability to remain sitting or standing for long periods while working
