📋 Description

• Apply accounting principles and standards to complex transactions • Prepare and analyze accurate, timely financial information • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate reconciling items • Record outgoing investment wires and corporate ACH disbursements in the general ledger • Maintain fixed asset schedules, record depreciation, and reconcile related accounts • Prepare month-end journal entries for payroll, 401(k), HSA, FSA, and other employee benefits • Code corporate credit card activity and reconcile it to monthly statements • Maintain reconciliation binders, schedules, and supporting documentation • Monitor daily cash activity and resolve ACH returns or wire rejections • Facilitate electronic transfers, investment wires, and corporate ACH disbursements • Research cash transaction statuses and escalate issues to bank representatives • Manage Positive Pay exceptions, stop payments, voided checks, ACH exceptions, and wire trace requests • Manage AP inbox and obtain payment approvals from staff and vendors • Lead weekly AP disbursement processes and enter approved invoices • Manage vendor tax documentation, bank detail updates, and vendor setup requests • Manage donor advised fund contracts, payment schedules, and renewals • Prepare AP Positive Pay files, ACH batches, and wire requests • Lead annual 1099 reporting • Respond to staff and vendor inquiries about AP invoices and disbursements • Assist with interim and year-end audit schedules and annual tax schedules • Prepare analyses and forecasts for the annual budget process • Facilitate grant disbursement wires and related Positive Pay files • Document processes, identify control weaknesses, and propose remedial changes • Identify automation opportunities • Back up physical mail routing and remote check deposits • Report to the Controller

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working in accounting and bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience • Experience working in a non-profit and/or investment organization strongly preferred • Experience using Sage Intacct, or similar web-based accounting system required • Experience using Expensify, Ramp, or similar web-based expense management application preferred • Experience participating in systems integrations or other technology/process improvement projects a strong plus • Demonstrated experience identifying and supporting process or systems improvements within an accounting or finance function preferred • Strong Excel skills required • Ability to interface with Teams, Office 365, Asana, Box, and Claude Cowork experience preferred • Strong verbal and written communication • Attention to detail and professional demeanor • Genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for process improvement, paired with sound accounting judgment • Ability to learn and use evolving technology and AI tools • Experience working in a virtual team environment • Ability to work independently and prioritize competing demands and deadlines • Knowledge and passion for using investing to create social or environmental impact • Must work from anywhere in the United States with work hours aligned to Eastern Standard Time (9–5:30, with some flexibility)
