📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in Python, Java, Go, or TypeScript • Build front-end components or internal tooling when needed • Maintain code quality through reviews, automated testing, and shared engineering standards • Design services with timeouts, retries, idempotency, and resilient dependency handling • Build and maintain integrations with ServiceNow, enterprise data platforms, and internal APIs using REST, messaging, and event-driven patterns • Integrate services with enterprise identity providers using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML • Provide technical details for cross-team requests and execute engineering work after dependencies clear • Build and own CI/CD pipelines with automated build, testing, security scanning, and deployment • Implement SAST, DAST, dependency and container scanning, secrets management, and least-privilege access • Own ATO work, control evidence, STIG or equivalent hardening, and remediation of findings • Turn AI architecture designs into production LLM-backed services, RAG features, and model integrations • Manage prompts and configurations, evaluation hooks, guardrails, usage tracking, and cost tracking • Monitor and tune AI features for quality, latency, cost, and safety • Deploy and run services in AWS or Azure government regions using infrastructure as code and containers on Kubernetes or managed equivalents • Build observability with logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and dashboards • Break capabilities into deliverable increments, estimate work, and surface risks and dependencies • Write runbooks, technical documentation, and handoff materials • Lead post-incident fixes for owned capabilities

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years building and owning production services end to end • Strong programming ability in at least one backend language: Python, Java, Go, or TypeScript • Track record designing RESTful APIs and services • Hands-on experience integrating with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow or comparable systems • Identity integration experience with OAuth 2.0 and OIDC or SAML, using enterprise identity providers such as Entra ID, Okta, or Keycloak • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with integrated security scanning • Hands-on ATO or equivalent compliance work, including control evidence, system hardening, and remediation • At least one AI or ML capability delivered to production, such as an LLM-backed service, RAG feature, or model integration • Experience deploying to AWS or Azure with infrastructure as code and containers • Experience with observability and production incident response • Ability to work independently on a remote team and explain technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience • U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance • Availability during East Coast business hours • Bonus: ServiceNow IntegrationHub, MID Server, Scripted REST APIs, or Flow Designer • Bonus: AWS GovCloud or Azure Government deployment experience • Bonus: FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and RMF familiarity • Bonus: Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, vector databases, or LLM frameworks • Bonus: LLM evaluation or guardrail tooling • Bonus: AI-agent tools, tool-calling, or Model Context Protocol integrations • Bonus: CompTIA Security+, DoD 8140 baseline, AWS/Azure developer or professional certification, or CKAD • Bonus: Federal or defense customer experience in a cleared environment
