📋 Description

• Lead a team of approximately five organizing staff across multiple states and career levels • Drive team performance, establish metrics, coach for growth, and hold staff accountable to shared campaign goals • Provide guidance, mentorship, structure, feedback, and evaluations • Manage individual staff performance using program metrics and tracking systems • Build a safe, welcoming, inspiring, inclusive, and equitable team culture • Lead priority programs and campaigns independently or with organizational leadership • Provide strategic oversight for state field programs, campaign execution, and cross-department initiatives • Develop strategic turf plans with organizers to achieve campaign and organizational goals • Manage team execution, provide constructive feedback, create learning opportunities, and address performance gaps • Help build and improve Indivisible’s organizing model and strategy • Identify best practices and work with leadership to scale them • Surface new departmental or organizational initiatives based on feedback from group leaders and staff • Travel up to 20% annually, depending on work needs

🎯 Requirements

• At least 5–7 years/cycles of demonstrated experience developing and implementing field strategies • Deep understanding of grassroots and grasstops organizing • Ability to develop, implement, track, monitor, and assess field plans • Ability to troubleshoot and adapt field plans as needed • Ability to tackle complex problems with actionable plans and innovative approaches • At least 3–5 years of proven experience managing others to achieve ambitious goals • Strong track record of meeting or exceeding goals • Strategic and analytical thinking skills • Ability to manage multiple work streams, prioritize, and problem-solve in complex situations • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic grassroots campaign environment while managing a heavy workload • Strong people skills and effective communication • Flexible, respectful, collaborative, and nimble work style • Ability to build trust across diverse staff, volunteers, and field partners • Demonstrated mentorship, coaching, and leadership development experience • Understanding of race, gender, sexuality, identity, and their intersections in the work • Self-awareness of multiple group identities and attendant dynamics • Experience organizing in communities of color and/or building multiracial organizing efforts • Prior training in anti-oppression, equity, and inclusion • Commitment to an inclusive and equitable working environment
