• Responsible for day-to-day accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll support, and financial reporting • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records across the organization's accounting systems • Support consolidated reporting across IEEFA's global entities • Report to the Finance Manager and work closely with the CFO and Finance Team • Maintain and ensure accuracy of accounts receivable and grants receivable aging reports • Review grant agreements to determine proper revenue recognition and record and code revenue • Create, maintain, and close grant and program codes in accounting, purchase card, and accounts payable systems • Maintain accounts payable systems and troubleshoot synchronization issues • Manage and review bank feed processing • Process incoming vendor bills, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and invoice verification • Maintain W-8/W-9 files and support year-end 1099 preparation, review, and submission • Pay approved vendor bills via accounts payable system, ACH, wire transfer, or foreign currency payment system • Maintain positive pay and ACH control systems • Verify W-2s and W-3s and enter payroll transactions and allocations • Perform quarterly 941 payroll reconciliations • Maintain general ledger accuracy and reclassify improperly coded transactions • Review closed grants during month-end close • Review IEEFA Australia accounting records for accurate consolidation of revenues and expenses • Track net assets with and without donor restrictions • Generate monthly support schedules and reconcile asset and liability accounts • Maintain deferred revenue and conditional review schedules and record revenue when required • Value contract deliverables and release restrictions when earned • Generate monthly and year-end financial reports, including consolidated year-end financial statements • Participate in financial performance and reporting meetings with the CFO and Finance Manager • Perform monthly bank and purchase card reconciliations and close fiscal periods • Manage uploads of IEEFA Australian and Employer of Record transactions and monthly functional allocations • Handle currency exchange and valuation issues • Review Form 990 and state returns and file certain state returns • Enter annual operating, program, and IEEFA Australia budgets into the accounting system • Provide support during the annual audit process • Participate in departmental and administrative meetings
• 7+ years of experience in nonprofit accounting or finance operations including multi-currency accounting • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions • Familiarity with grant-funded organizations, grant accounting, and revenue recognition for restricted and unrestricted funds • Experience with financial statement preparation and month-end/year-end close processes • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Effective communicator who can work across teams, time zones, and cultures • Flexible, team-oriented approach with willingness to work as part of a diverse global workforce • Highly organized; able to check work products for accuracy, set priorities, and meet objectives and deadlines with limited direction while working remotely • Commitment to IEEFA's mission to accelerate the transition to a diverse, sustainable and profitable energy economy • Authorization to work in the United States • Must be able to work for prolonged periods at a computer • Some travel is required • Attendance is required at team retreats two to four times a year, some domestic and some international
