📋 Description

• Address large volumes of unpaid or incorrectly paid claims to secure reimbursement • Perform medical billing functions for third-party claims • Review unpaid claims and straightforward denials; appeal, correct, and resubmit claims when necessary • Follow up with insurance companies regarding unpaid or incorrectly paid services • Help patients understand insurance claim processing • Assist patients with collection questions when the Collections Specialist is unavailable • Write off uncollectible balances up to $500, dependent on experience • Resolve claim edits before claim submission • Review and process payer refunds • Research and resolve minor patient complaints and credit balances • Complete special projects and other assigned duties • Maintain confidentiality and comply with Joint Commission, HIPAA, and PHI requirements • Rotate to other shifts and locations as needed

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required • Valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance • Patient accounts billing experience desired • Working knowledge of IDX Flowcast BAR preferred • CPT and ICD-9 coding experience preferred • Good customer service skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Detail-oriented, able to multitask, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Kronos, Replicon, Internet, Intranet, IDX, Meditech, Code Correct, Gateway EDI, and Imagecast highly desired • Must pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 • Must not be included on the HHS OIG List of Excluded Individuals • Eligible employees must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test, including marijuana • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality • Attendance is required • Ability to rotate to other shifts and locations as needed
