📋 Description

• Lead Instacart's state and local government affairs in the Midwest and Central United States • Establish relationships with key policymakers and influential government-oriented stakeholders • Educate policymakers on Instacart's business, constituent value, and the ecommerce landscape • Craft and execute legislative, regulatory, and political strategies • Prepare for and support hearings, regulatory proceedings, and testimony in person, virtually, or in writing • Represent Instacart in regional trade associations and industry coalitions • Build third-party political, advocacy, and industry alliances • Create policy solutions and advocacy campaigns with Policy Research and Development, legal partners, internal stakeholders, and Public Engagement • Educate cross-functional stakeholders on legislation and regulatory matters • Report policy developments through weekly reports and other internal materials • Manage annual budgets and external consultants

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of state or local government, policy or corporate government relations experience • Established policymaker relationships and confidence interacting with elected officials and executives • Deep understanding of state and local lawmaking and regulatory processes • Strategic thinking with polished oral and written presentation skills • Ability to thrive under pressure and balance long- and short-term priorities • Resourceful and entrepreneurial with a bias toward action • Willingness to travel frequently • Collaborative, positive, can-do attitude • Expertise in labor/workforce, ecommerce, or tech policy preferred • Experience with Slack preferred
